Today, the founder of Abuls Cidery – Jānis – is considered the oldest craft cider maker in Latvia. His cidery is small, he works alone, and as he says, the most important thing is the process. After all, according to him, cider making is an art. He has been making cider for over 20 years. The cidery is located on the outskirts of Smiltene, on a bend of the Abuls River.
